Ochre has a deep and enduring cultural significance for aboriginal people. Used for ceremonial and artistic purposes, it represents a connection to the land and is used in art, rituals and healing practices.We are delighted to welcome Sonya Naylor to the Art Room Narooma. Sonya will share the ancient Aboriginal techniques of working with and painting with Ochre. Led by esteemed Yuin and GunaiKurnai artist, Sonya – you will be guided through the traditional techniques involved with working with Ochre and hear the stories surrounding this creative practice.
In addition to learning, you will create your own unique artwork during the workshop under the guidance of Sonya.
