Ochre Painting Workshop – 9th January 2026
Ochre has a deep and enduring cultural significance for aboriginal people. Used for ceremonial and artistic purposes, it represents a connection to the land and is used in art, rituals and healing practices. We are delighted to welcome Sonya Naylor to the Art Room Narooma. Sonya will share the ancient Aboriginal techniques of working with and painting with Ochre. Led by esteemed Yuin and GunaiKurnai artist, Sonya – you will be guided through the traditional techniques involved with working with Ochre and hear the stories surrounding this creative practice. In addition to learning, you will create your own unique artwork during the workshop under the guidance of Sonya. Ticket price $260 per person. This workshop is limited to 6 places.
Painting Florals – One Day Workshop – 11th January 2026
Summer means lots of amazing colourful flowers to paint. Come and join Luke for this one-day workshop at the Art Room. The summer flowers will be provided by The Plot – locally grown in Bodalla. Luke will walk you through the process of painting still life, composition, brush techniques and the use of colour. All art materials are included (Canvas, Paint and Brushes) plus you will take all these art supplies home with you at the end of the workshop – so you can continue with your piece or start something new. Sunday the 11th January 2026 – 9:30am to 4pm Price $180 per person (all materials included)
